About OPSENSE

A systems engineering company built on delivery, not promises.

Founded in London, OPSENSE LIMITED has spent over a decade designing and engineering computer systems for organisations across the UK and beyond. We work on the problems that matter most — the ones where getting it wrong has real consequences.

Our Background

Built from engineering experience, not consulting theory.

OPSENSE LIMITED was established to address a clear gap in the market: organisations were being sold technology strategies by consultants who would never build them, and infrastructure by engineers who had never operated it in production.

We exist to close that gap. Every engagement we take on is staffed by engineers who have designed, built and operated the type of systems we are being asked to create. There is no knowledge transfer from a distant engagement manager. There is no handover to a junior team after the strategy is sold.

From our office at 5 Great James Street in London, we work with clients across financial services, healthcare, logistics, legal technology and professional services. Our delivery model is direct: a small, experienced team working closely with the client's own technical and business stakeholders.

We have delivered systems ranging from complete cloud migrations for regulated financial institutions to DevOps transformation programmes for companies scaling from startup to enterprise. The common thread in every case is the same: a clear engineering approach, a structured delivery process and a commitment to leaving the client with a system they can understand and operate — not a dependency on us.

We are registered in England and Wales, operating under OPSENSE LIMITED. Our work is subject to UK law and we apply the rigour that UK regulatory and commercial standards require.

Operating Principles

Six principles. Non-negotiable in every engagement.

01

Diagnose before you design.

We do not produce architecture proposals for systems we have not assessed. Every engagement begins with a structured discovery phase — whether the client is building new or modifying existing. Understanding the current state accurately is the prerequisite for everything that follows.

02

Infrastructure as code. Always.

Every environment we build is defined in code and can be reproduced from that code alone. No manual steps. No undocumented exceptions. No infrastructure that exists only in one engineer's memory. Reproducibility is not a preference — it is an engineering standard.

03

Security is not a phase — it is a posture.

Security controls are embedded at the design stage, not added after the build is complete. We apply the principle of least privilege, network segmentation and audit logging from the first line of infrastructure code. Compliance frameworks are engineered in, not checked for retrospectively.

04

Documentation that reflects reality.

We do not write documentation as an afterthought or to satisfy a contract clause. Architecture diagrams, runbooks and operational guides are created alongside the build and updated to reflect the delivered state. A client should be able to operate what we build without calling us.

05

Monitoring before go-live. Not after.

Production systems must be observable from the moment they go live. Dashboards, alerting rules, log aggregation and capacity metrics are configured as part of the build, not retrofitted after the first incident. We consider a deployment incomplete if it cannot be observed.

06

Deliver what reduces dependency, not what increases it.

The measure of a successful engagement is whether the client's team can operate the delivered system without us. We transfer knowledge intentionally — through documentation, walkthrough sessions and structured handovers. Client capability, not client dependency, is the goal.

What Sets Us Apart

Four ways OPSENSE works differently.

[ ]

Senior engineers on every engagement.

Every OPSENSE project is delivered by senior engineers with direct industry experience in the relevant domain. We do not staff junior engineers under a senior project manager. The people who scope the work are the people who build it.

{ }

Delivery-first. Not strategy-first.

We produce strategy documents only when they are a means to a delivery outcome. Our commercial model is based on what we build and what we deliver — not on the volume of reports, decks and recommendations we produce. Clients pay for outcomes, not activity.

[ / ]

Narrow scope. Deep execution.

We focus on computer systems design and related services — architecture, infrastructure, integration, security and transformation. We do not attempt to cover every technology domain. We go deep in the areas where deep expertise produces better results.

{ + }

Built to hand over, not to retain.

We measure success by the client's ability to operate what we build. Knowledge transfer, documentation completeness and operational readiness reviews are part of every engagement by default — not optional add-ons purchased at a premium.
